MEC is owned and operated by Buddy Carleton. Being a native of Maine, I understand the elements of Maine weather and it is our mission to help Maine residents and landlords reduce the amount of energy used in their homes.

Our team combines 30 years or experience in weatherization and maintenance of residential and multi-family structures.

Buddy Carleton

Since 1985 I have been involved with the acquisition, maintenance and management of dozens of single and multi-family homes. During this time, my primary focus has been to utilize a sensible, hands-on approach to maintaining and winterizing these properties. Using this approach for 23 years, I have gained extensive knowledge about the structural strengths and weaknesses of almost every kind of home, from victorian to modern.

As a homeowner, you may or may not be aware that even the tiniest gaps or leaks can compromise the performance of your heating system, or even the safety of your family. Decades of personal experience applied to today’s scientific approach create an invaluable combination when it comes to maximum savings and efficiency.

Local weatherization contractor, Energy auditor and owner of R & R Property Management located in Augusta, ME.

I service over 100 units in the Augusta area and 60 units in Rockland. This includes working and experience with everything from framing, foundations to furnaces, plumbing, electrical, doors and windows, everything from attic to basement.

I have been a property owner since 2000, and working on homes and construction for 12 years. As a full time property manager and maintenance person for the past 9 years, my company, R & R Property Management, has been involved in the turnover of hundreds of units in the Augusta and Rockland areas. I’ve seen lots of leaky faucets, running toilets, and numerous other inefficiencies that burn through a budget if not corrected. My goal through management has been to reduce the overall energy consumption of each building that I manage.

Because of my expertise and knowledge in the Maine housing industry and my passion for saving money, I have partnered with Bud Carleton and formed Maine Energy Conservation. With this partnership we can offer our clients the most efficient ways to weatherize their property, thus saving them their hard–earned money.
